Step 1: Start With Your Regular Size

Our boots are designed to fit true to size. Start with the size you normally wear in quality leather shoes or well-made sneakers.

  • Between sizes? We recommend sizing up if you have wider feet or prefer a little extra room.
  • Already wear cowboy boots? Choose the size that fits you best in your favorite Western boot brand.

Step 2: Try Them On the Right Way

When your boots arrive, follow these steps to make sure the fit feels right:

  • Wear boot socks or socks that are slightly thicker than your everyday socks, but not bulky.
  • Stand up and walk around on a clean, carpeted surface to protect the soles in case you need to return them.
  • Expect a little heel slip. A heel lift of approximately ¼–½ inch is normal in new leather boots and should reduce as the sole breaks in.
  • Check the instep, which is the top of your foot. It should feel secure and comfortably snug—not tight and not loose.
  • Make sure you can wiggle your toes without cramping, pinching, or pressure.
  • Look for comfort rather than heavy cushioning. Quality leather naturally molds to your feet over time.

Step 3: Break Them In Naturally

Quality leather boots become softer and more comfortable with every wear.

  • Wear your boots around the house for short periods.
  • Let the leather naturally soften at pressure points, especially around the instep.
  • Apply a quality leather conditioner to areas that feel slightly stiff or tight.
  • Do not use heat or soak your boots in water to force them to stretch. Natural wear creates the best long-term fit.

Pro Fit Tips

  • Most people have one foot slightly larger than the other. Fit your boots to the larger foot.
  • Try your boots on later in the day, when your feet are naturally slightly more swollen.
  • Always check the fit while standing, because your feet expand under your body weight.

Boot Care

Your Quinta Ranch Western Wears boots are crafted from premium leather and made to last. With proper care, they’ll only get better with time.

Clean:

Brush off dirt after each wear using a soft cloth or a soft-bristled brush.

Condition:

Apply a quality leather conditioner every 1–3 months to keep the leather supple and help prevent cracking. For exotic leathers, such as python, use a conditioner specifically made for exotic skins. Before applying conditioner to the entire boot, test it on a small, discreet area near the heel to make sure it does not affect the color or finish.

Dry Naturally:

If your boots become wet, let them air-dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat, hair dryers, or heaters. Stuff the boots with clean newspaper or paper to help retain their shape and absorb excess moisture.

Store Smart:

Keep your boots upright in a cool, dry place. Use boot trees to help maintain their shape. Natural variations in leather are part of what makes every pair uniquely yours.
